About Joseph Chen Zhonghua (陈中华)[badge value=”EN”]
Joseph Chen Zhonghua (陈中华), courtesy name Dongliang (栋梁), born in 1961, Shandong Province, China, is a Chinese martial arts practitioner, teacher and author. Chen studied with two outstanding eighteenth generation Chen Style Taijiquan (陳式太極拳) experts, Hong Junsheng (洪均生; 1907 – 1996) and Feng Zhiqiang (冯志强, 1928-2012). He and his family emigrated to Canada in 1985. This has allowed him to actively promote Hong’s transmission of Chen t’ai chi ch’uan(also known as the Practical Method) through his students, seminars, books, instructional videos and websites around the world. In 2005, he was designated the International Standard Bearer of Hong’s Practical Method by the Hong family in a ceremony held in Jinan (济南), China. Since 2006, Chen has run a residential taijiquan training program on Daqingshan (“Big Green Mountain”; 大青山), Shandong Province (山东省), China. Martial arts enthusiast from all over the world can train according to traditional Chen taijiquan methods following the lineage from Chen Fake to Hong and Feng。

一、竞赛原则[badge value=”CN”]
(一)在比赛中贯彻太极技击“攻守寓一”、“守中用中”、“制人而不制于人”的原则。
(二)双方以手臂触接互为控制,采用推、扑、偏、拧等技术方法,破坏对方身体重心和平衡能力,并使倒地或下擂,体现“引进落空”、“闪战惊弹”的劲力发放效果。
二、比赛方式及触发部位
(一)每局开始,双方运动员前脚同踩于擂台中心点,互以手臂交叉触接成搭手势,场裁发出“开始”口令后,即可互相攻守。
(二)触发部位限于颈部以下、耻骨以上躯干和上肢。(脖子部位不可以放手,顺势可以。)
(三)可以手臂开掌直接推扑躯干等有效部位,采用“棚、履、挤、按、挒、採、肘、靠”等技击技法。
(四)可以在防守对方进攻时使用单臂支点的反关节技法化解摆脱威胁,不得双手抓握对方手臂施以擒拿固锁,不得在迫使对方反关节时剪切发力。
(五)可以在双臂触接的攻防过程中对踝关节以下实行的勾、拦、拌、挂。不得使用扫踢、钩踢、里外勾腿、挑勾子等摔跤技法。
三、优势胜利
(一)在一场比赛中一方累计分数超出对方达10分时,为该场胜方。
(二)双方实力悬殊,裁判长征得总裁判长同意后,可宣布优势方为胜方。
(三)比赛中,一方要求弃权,判对方胜。
(四)比赛中,因对方犯规造成受伤,经医生检查不能继续比赛,判受伤者为胜方。
(五)比赛中一方技术犯规和侵入犯规达到4分,判另一方获胜。
四、胜负评定
(一)根据运动员的得分多少确定胜负,得分多者为胜方。
(二)得分相等时,以体重轻者为胜方;仍相等时,分别按警告、劝告多少计算,少者为胜方;再相等时加赛,先得分者获胜。
五、得分
(一)得3分:凡运用规则允许的技击方法将对方发放倒地得3分。
(二)得2分:侵入犯规者被警告一次,对方得2分。
(三)得1分:
1、使对方出界或倒地时,自己后出界或后倒地者得1分。
2、技术犯规者被劝告一次,对方得1分。
六、罚则
(一)凡有以下行为者,给予劝告。
1、使用硬拉、硬拖、硬抱者。
2、双手插入对方腋下相持达6秒没有进攻动作。
3、故意造成对方犯规者。
4、单、双手抓住对方衣服或双手死握对方者(顺势除外)。
5、裁判未发“开始”口令进攻对方,或已发“停止”口令仍进攻对方者。
(二)凡有以下行为者,给予警告。
1、使用拳打、头撞、指戳、抓头发、撅手指、肘尖顶、捞裆、扼喉等动作者。
2、攻击规则中规定以外的身体部位者。
3、比赛中对裁判员不礼貌或不服从裁判者。
(三)凡有以下行为者,取消比赛资格及已取得的比赛成绩
1、在比赛场上对裁判员谩骂、围攻、侮辱者。
2、故意攻击对方严禁攻击部位者。
Rules[badge value=”EN”]
A. Objective
- Control the opponent
- Destroy the opponent’s centre of gravity or balance
- Entice the opponent into emptiness
- Bouncing the opponent
B. Match Format
- The athletes participate in two 2-min rounds with one 1-min break in between.
- At the beginning of every bout, both athletes step on the centre of the mat, and touch each other at the wrist and elbow to get ready. After the referee signals “start”, they begin the attack.
- The hands are only allowed to contact area below the neck and above the legs of the opponent. The legs and feet are only allowed to contact the legs and feet of the opponent.
- Pushing is allowed
- Throwing is allowed
- Tripping is allowed
- Sweeping is allowed.
- No punching.
- No direct hitting.
- No kicking above the ankles.
- No joint locking.
- No leg grabbing
- No attack on vital parts, e.g. eyes, throat, groin, etc.
- When the two competitors are stuck for more than 15 seconds, the referee may break up the athletes and restart the bout at the centre.
C. Winner Declaration
- At any point of the match, when one athlete has scored 10 points or more over the opponent, the athlete with more points is declared the winner.
- At the end of the match time, the athlete with more points is declared the winner.
- If both athletes’ scores are the same, the athlete that is lighter in weight is declared the winner.
- If both athletes weight the same, the athlete that committed fewer fouls is declared the winner.
- If it still remains the same, an extra round will occur, the athlete that first scores a point is declared the winner.
- When one athlete requests to abstain from the match or forfeits the match, the opponent is declared the winner.
- If one athlete commits more than 4 foul points, the opponent is declared the winner.
- If one athlete is injured by the opponent, the injured person may be declared the winner.
D. Scoring
- 3 points are awarded to the athlete causing the opponent to have any part of the body above the feet touching the ground without stepping out of bound or falling himself.
- 2 points are awarded to the opponent when an athlete repeatedly commits a foul (one warning is first given for each of such moves).
- 1 point is awarded to the athlete causing the opponent to first step out of bound or falling.
E. Penalty
- An advice is given to the athlete who commits any one of the following acts:
- Excessive dragging or hugging
- Both hands inserted into the opponent’s armpit for 6 seconds without attack.
- Deliberately causing the opponent to foul.
- Grabbing the opponent’s clothes
- Grabbing the opponent’s leg
- Beginning an attack before the referee signals “start”
- Not stopping an attack after the referee has signaled “stop”
- A warning is given to the athlete who commits any one of the following fouls, two warnings for the same kind of fouls result in the opponent being awarded two points:
- Punching
- Headbutting
- Finger poking
- Hair pulling
- Elbow striking
- Kicking
- Joint locking
- Pulling the back of the opponent’s neck
- Hitting the body parts other than the allowed area
- Being disrespectful to the referee or disobeying the referee
- An immediate disqualification for the current and further matches, and an cancellation of any achieved result is given to the athlete who commits any one of the following acts:
- Attacking or insulting the referee of the match
- Deliberately attacking any of the opponent’s vital parts or causing harm to the opponent
